With the Air Jordan 9 and Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG releasing this weekend in an homage to Michael Jordan’s brief stint as a baseball player, Jordan Brand is finally acknowledging a strange time in the professional career of their founder. While his changing sports was sudden and incredibly surprising, it may have helped spread the brand more than initially expected as after the 1997 branding of the Jumpman, athletes from various sports starting signing to the imprint.
