C.C. Sabathia just showed off his 2012 Opening Day cleats (the Melo M8s), but wouldn’t it have been nice for him to rock some Air Jordan XIs? He already ran through his Cool Greys, Space Jams, and Concords, so it’s time for him to switch out to something else, but these beauties are too hard to ignore. Not only are they a cleated version of the Concords, these feature a red Jumpman on the tongue stripe. In retrospect, these would’ve made so much more sense, but instead, the word ‘Concord’ has become a pop-culture phenomenon. When C.C. Sabathia has opened up the season for the New York Yankees, the Yanks are 1-2. On Opening Day 2010, he wore a special pair of ‘Cool Grey’ XIs against rival Boston Red Sox. This particular pair features a cleated sole and much higher cut than its basketball counterpart. These have also been autographed by Sabathia and are a must for any Yankee fan out there. We’ve seen the Air Jordan IX  in many player exclusive variations and considering that CC Sabathia has received many of his own Jordan PEs throughout his career, its only right that he also got a IX as well. This IX it outfitted with a cleat and has an upper that is covered in rich, white patent leather as well as dark navy nubuck. With Sabathia returning to the Bronx Bombers in 2012, could we see him wearing this Air Jordan IX at some point next season? He finished his 2008 season with a record of 17-10 in total after going 11-2 with the Brewers.
