Is This Air Jordan 6 Colorway a Nod at the 2014 World Cup?

Is This Air Jordan 6 Colorway a Nod at the 2014 World Cup?

An Air Jordan 6 inspired by soccer? It’s 2014 and the Jumpman has been branching off in all sorts of directions whether it be their luxurious lifestyle models like the Jordan Future and Jordan Shine or their training and running line that opts to convert other athletes into Jordan Brand affiliates. But a shoe that dons a colorway inspired by the biggest sporting event in the world, the World Cup, and the hosting city of Brazil still seems fairly surprising. With a black base, the sneaker sees a black midsole with speckled vemon green like accents while a vibrant yellow hits the branding in a look that Brazil has been wearing on their uniforms for quite some time. Do you think the Air Jordan 6 is a fitting silhouette to nod at the upcoming World Cup? Stick with us for more images and stay tuned for upcoming information in our Jordan Release Dates page.

Air Jordan 6: Sport Blue More Images

We’re getting to the point that there are very few original colorways within the history books at Jordan Brand that have yet to receive a retro, and one of those pairs – the Air Jordan 6 “Sport Blue” has remained untouched since its initial release in 1991. The sneaker will debut in late August for the 23rd anniversary of the silhouette and should definitely come with additional excitement. Featuring a clean white upper, the shoe gets the contrasted black tongue while royal blue accents arrive on the midsole and Jumpman branding and match fairly well with the new age icy sole. Where does the original colorway of the Air Jordan 6 “Sport Blue” rank compared to the other Air Jordan 6 retros we will be seeing later this year?
