The Air Jordan V “Fire Red” will be releasing at the end of this month on Saturday, August 31st, and to many it was the climax of a three year run that had Tinker Hatfield and Jordan Brand make some of the most classic signatures in his first three tries. Of the Air Jordan III, IV and V all shared the common theme of releasing in a predominantly white home version, a black away, a lifestyle model (whether it was true blue, military blue, or Grape) and then there was the eye-catching ‘Fire Red’ installment that was seen across all three models. At the time it was considered revolutionary to paint a shoe’s midsole bright red and Sneaker News dug a little deeper to go into the shoe’s storied history. You can catch some of the images from the feature in the gallery and head over to Sneaker News for the full Select piece.
