Fire Red Air Jordan 5

The icy blue look on the bottom of the is one update made from the OG that nobody seems to mind. The slightly colored soles are allegedly a bit more resilient to the yellowing process, but none of the current-gen Air Jordan Vs have really reached the age where we’ll be able to determine whether or not that’s the case. See the new Air Jordan V “Fire Red”, a sneaker featuring said look, right after the jump and remember that they’ll be releasing on August 31st, 2013.

Air Jordan V: Fire Red 1990 OG on eBay

Why did some OG Air Jordan Vs, like the “Fire Red” pictured here, have the 23 stitching while others did not? The answer to that question might be lost on history, but at least Jordan Brand is respecting the differences with the recent batch of retros. This OG 1990 pair of the Air Jordan V “Fire Red” gives us a better idea of the reference design here, of course including the coveted “Nike Air” in black on back. Air Jordan V “Fire Red” – Release Date

The 2013 Air Jordan V “Fire Red” release date is August 31st. Shown here are the first shots of the new version of the sneaker, a set that betrays the initial catalog scan that had the “23″ missing on the back end. You’ll remember that the original release of this specific colorway did indeed have Mike’s number on it, so this version ends up pretty OG looking thanks to that detail. Air Jordan V: Fire Red OG

The Air Jordan III ’88 retro coming in just a couple of weeks has very much opened up Pandora’s box with respect to what’s possible on an Air Jordan re-issue. So the question now is: how long before other silhouettes return with the ‘Nike Air’ branding on the back end? We’re sure the would cause quite the commotion if it got that treatment as well. Shown off here is an original pair that established that look, one that’s been kept in decent condition over the years. Check out the vintage Air Jordan V ‘Fire Red’ OG in the gallery then purchase them from yzer450 on eBay.

Air Jordan V: White Black Fire Red | Release Date

Generally any given Retro has to take a hiatus for at least a couple of years before jumping right back onto retail shelves. Such is not the case for the at least this time around, with the model getting plenty of pairs released in 2011 and already back on tap for 2013. The colorway that we can say for certain is coming back is the ‘Fire Red’ with the black based midsole ala the CDP version or the cherished 1999 Retro. Better yet we’ve got the specific day that they’ll be back: January 26th, 2013. Let us know which model among 2013′s awesome release schedule you’re most stoked on and check back with Jordans Daily for photos of the January 2013 Air Jordan V as soon as they pop up. via jmadidas2001 on NT/Photos: Kixclusive
