Derek Jeter’s DJ3K gear

Derek Jeter is three hits away from becoming the first New York Yankee and the twenty eighth player in MLB history to join the 3,000 hit club. To commemorate this milestone and rare achievement, Jordan Brand has designed a special edition Jordan Jeter Cut cleat that he will wear when he gets the 3,000th hit. The cleat features gold accents throughout to show how rare of a feat this is in addition to nods to his high school days that have set the tone for Jeter’s illustrious career. The day before his first high school game, Jeter signed a contract drafted by his father that detailed chores and tasks that would not only make him a better ball player but a better person as well. The contract is replicated and engraved in its entirety on both sock liners. On the back of the tongues are the words “I agree” from the contract along with his high school number, 13, and his major league number, 2.

In addition to the cleat are the gold accented batting gloves that Derek will wear when he reaches 3,000. Jeter will also receive an exclusive pair of the which pay homage to Kalamazoo High School. Yankee fans and Jeter fans will also get the chance to commemorate the event with a pair of t-shirts that come in the Yankee colors, blue and grey. The t-shirts will be sold at major sporting goods retailers for $25. Take a look at the DJ3K gear after the jump and let us know what you think about the Jeter’s upcoming, monumental feat.
