Jordan fans are getting a treat in the upcoming Air Jordan XX3 “Chi City” retro, the most recent re-release of an original Jordan shoe since the Air Jordan XI retroed in 2000 (five years after the 1995 originals). The XX3 was released in 2008 with a handcrafted aesthetic spearheaded by the efforts of designers Tinker Hatfield and Mark Smith, which is coming back but subbing in leather sidewalls for the original quilted pattern upper. The signature toe cap motif returns intact, however, along with the contrast stitching, tongue roundels, and Michael Jordan fingerprint-inspired traction. And if the extremely red upper didn’t communicate it, the “CHI” and “CITY” skyline graphics stitched into each shoe’s heel should get you there. We’ll bring you more photos and info on this as yet unannounced release as it happens.
