Now that Jordans Daily has put you up on the official images of the Air Jordan XX8, we wanted to take you inside the unique experience crafted by the Jordan Brand team to debut the sneakers. The setting was midtown Manhattan, where eager members of the sneaker media huddled outside pondering what secrets were in store for them. On the inside Jordan Brand President Larry Miller was waiting, who eventually turned the floor over to long time friend of the brand . The man also know as Mars Blackmon then brought out another guest-, that cornerstone of Jordan Brand athletes who has immediately come to mean so much to the city of New York. Following their chit chat, attendees were herded up several more floors in a freight elevator to where the true surprise awaited. What was that surprise? How many different logos from Nike’s far flung divisions and projects can you think of off the top of your head? However deep your knowledge we bet it can’t compare to this, the Nike Logo Project, and encyclopedic collection of logos spanning Nike’s storied history that has been under secrecy for the duration of the compilation process. Now that it’s out in the open some interesting details emerge, particularly pertaining to the design behind the Jumpman logo. Famously immortalizing a mid-air Michael pose, the logo was intended by designer to be iconic on the same level as the Polo horsey, with MJ filling the role as a “black Ralph Lauren”. Tinker Hatfield Wears Air Jordan III Oregon Pit Crew

If it wasn’t for , there would be no Jordan Brand. His innovative and unique convinced Michael Jordan to stay with Nike and not sign with another shoe company. His work on the Air Jordan signature line is what he is known for by sneakerheads, but did they know that the Architect is an alumnus of the University of Oregon? He graduated from their School of Architecture and Allied Arts and despite working on shoes for a North Carolina grad, he still reps his colors every now and then. Yesterday at the Air Jordan 2012 media launch, Hatfield was seen wearing the Air Jordan III ‘Oregon Pit Crew’ which was made for the Ducks student section. There are only 500 pairs in existence and these are just one of the many rare pairs of Jordans that he owns.
