Kobe Bryant‘s historic 20-year career has drawn to a close, but the Lakers legend will continue to work with Nike to develop athlete-driven products. To that end, his first post-retirement sneaker venture will be the Kobe 11 “Muse Pack” – a three-shoe lineup that references Kobe’s inspirations with the latest performance, with a none-too-subtle nod to Michael Jordan. Bryant collaborated on the pack with designer Tinker Hatfield – whose iconic Air Jordan creations Bryant says caused his parents “a lot of headaches over the years” tying to track them down. The pack’s second shoe re-imagines details from Air Jordan 3, with black, red and cement grey detailing, perforations on the tongue, and Nike branding on the heel. Kobe 11 Tinker Muse releases May 5th at Nike.com and select global retailers.

Watch Kobe talk about his connection to Michael, Tinker, and the Air Jordan line now.
