Russell Westbrook Debuts the Air Jordan XX9

Russell Westbrook is back and in full form for this season’s NBA Playoffs. After he was sidelined in the Houston Rockets series last year, he was sorely missed by the then-reigning Western Conference champions and Kevin Durant couldn’t carry them to the next round. This year looks to be a little different as they seek revenge on the Grizzlies and Westbrook hit the court with something extra special: the first sighting of the Air Jordan XX9 in action. The just-announced 29th signature shoe in the Air Jordan line got a special OKC themed colorway that featured blue elphant print and orange piping on an all white knit base while an icy blue outsole finished the look off. The Thunder would go on to win Game 1. What do you think of the latest look at the Air Jordan 29? Let us know in the comments.

Jordan Brand Gives the Jordan 1 Flight Strap a Knicks PE

Aside from the Jordan signature sneaker and the likes of shoes baring the names of Chris Paul, Blake Griffin, and Carmelo Anthony – silhouettes from the Jumpman rarely see a sellout happen. Take for instance the Jordan 1 Flight Strap – a shoe that borrows heavily from the Air Jordan 1 and features a mesh like upper in an homage to the Air Jordan 4. While this shoe would likely sit on shelves and see a sales bin before a sneaker connoisseur picked them up, Jordan Brand recently gave the model a revamp in the form of a Carmelo Anthony PE. Featuring a Knicks colorway, the shoe gets hit with a black base while royal blue and orange alternate. Add in a number 7 stitching and the shoe ends up being an enticing offer. Russell Westbrook also got his own exclusive, so stick with us after the click for a better look and know that these will be available via Foot Locker.

Russell Westbrook Records 2nd Fastest Triple Double in NBA History

Well, that was quick. Russell Westbrook is returning to All-Star form after two injuries sidelined him for the majority of the season. The point guard recently laced up his Air Jordan XX8 SE pair in a game against the Philadelphia 76ers and turned on the switch to make NBA History at record speed. The Oklahoma City Thunder star logged 13 points, 10 rebounds and 14 assists for a triple double. Number zero grabbed his 10th rebound with nearly five minutes to go in the third quarter, recording the fastest triple double (at 21 minutes) in nearly 60 years. The last to do it? Jim Tucker on February 20th, 1955 in 17 minutes. So congratulations to Russell Westbrook on the feat and stick with Jordans Daily for all of your Jordan Athletes news.

Russell Westbrook Says Happy Birthday, Mom with Air Jordan 28 SE PEs

Welcome back Russell Westbrook! It was good to see the All-Star point guard back in action last night, and even though his team lost to the Miami Heat by a large margin and that will only inspire chemistry complaints from analysts across the country, Russ was more than happy to be back on the hardwood – he not only started but put up 16 points in under 24 minutes. Apparently it was a more than special occasion for number zero as well, as his Air Jordan XX8 SE PEs gave a special Happy Birthday message to his mom on the icy sole. He even wrote a message on the toebox followed by his signature “Why Not?” mantra. Hit the click for a better look.

Russell Westbrook Shows Off Jordan Future

The glorious All-Star Weekend is finally upon us, but unfortunately for Jordan Brand and OKC fans, a certain number zero will be missing from the Western Conference lineup. Russell Westbrook has stayed busy rehabbing his current knee injury as the Thunder roll into the All-Star break with the best record not only in the Western Conference, but in the entire league thanks to the MVP caliber play of Kevin Durant. In the meantime, Russell has been taking his unusual fashion sense courtside and his most recent footwear selection was of the upcoming Jordan Future. The woven upper has seen a couple of new colorways, but this pair, featuring a 3M woven NSW-looking upper is the simplest yet, swapping out that volt sole for a white and black one. What do you think of Russell’s latest footwear selection? Let us know by clicking through a full image after the jump.

Jordan Brand Reveals 2014 All Star Pack

The NBA All-Star game is only a few weeks away and Jordan Brand will be represented to the fullest with three of its signature athletes in the starting lineups including Carmelo Anthony for the East (who’s definitely been playing like an All-Star as of late having just set the Madison Square Garden single game scoring record with 62 points over the weekend) and teammates Chris Paul and Blake Griffin on the West squad. Russell Westbrook even made it to the reserves but will likely not participate due to injury (CP3 is still up in the air as well). But one thing is for sure, the shoe’s that each player dons will definitely be All-Star caliber. The Air Jordan XX8 SE features an elephant print hyperfuse upper in a venom green to add a scaly reptilian effect while both the Jordan CP3.VII and Jordan Super.Fly get a blue treatment. Interestingly enough the Air Jordan XX8 is also included in the pack and features a clean white perforated upper while the back heel plate usually doled out in a carbon fiber gets a premium hardwood look. Which pair are you feeling? Hit the gallery for a full view and let us know in the comments.
