It’s that time again folks, and we’re back with a quick peek at the NBA to see what sort of Air Jordan heat has been around over the past couple of days. Jordan Brand’s holy trinity of Carmelo Anthony, Chris Paul, and Dwyane Wade hold down the majority of the selection with their sig picks. Other mainstays didn’t dissapoint, with Monta Ellis again rocking the Air Jordan XII and Gilbert Arenas bringing out some heavy hitters with the Air Jordan XI ‘Concord’. Getting fresh for Easter is a time honored tradition, one that’s certainly well respected by these NBA stars given the kicks on court over the holiday weekend. Monta Ellis was back showing off with a couple different Air Jordan XII colorways, DeMarcus Cousins broke the mold a bit with the ‘Concord’ looking Air Jordan XI IE Low, and Carmelo Anthony trotted out a PE pair of the Jordan Melo M8 featuring a blue suede touch. With the retro releases generally falling towards the end of the week, Jordan Brand does their best to space out drops from there. As a result, this signature silhouette from one of their marquee athletes will be coming to you on a Wednesday, tomorrow, March 7th to be exact. The Jordan Fly Wade 2 shown here is surprisingly low-key for such a high energy player, furthering the recent trend of strong and simple black and white sneakers from the Jumpman team. Unlike 2/3rds of the Nike Basketball’s biggest names, Jordan Brand‘s big three athletes actually spent some time in the NCAA. That is cause enough for celebration for their respective alma maters, who are being blessed this year with tribute colorways just in time for March Madness. First up is the Jordan Melo M8 which grabs the immediately recognizable palette of Syracuse University, splashing the orange and white across the upper and bringing in midnight navy for a bit of accenting. Dwyane Wade’s Jordan Fly Wade 2 is a similar success, sporting the bold gold of Marquette to hold down the front end of the sneaker and a dark obsidian bringing up the rear. Chris Paul’s entry into the pack in the form of the Jordan CP3.V goes for the gold as well, albeit with a much paler approach to match the Wake Forest colors. Take a look at all three of these college centric colorways from Jordan Brand, which are set to hit stores this week on Thursday, March 8th. The Marquette Golden Eagles are flying high as they are ranked in top 10 in both the ESPN and AP polls. As the NCAA Tournament nears, they can expect to be a 2 or 3 seed depending on how they finish in the Big East Tournament. When they take the floor of Madison Square Garden next week, they are expected to wear the Jordan Fly Wade 2 ‘Marquette’ which releases next Thursday, March 8th. Dwyane Wade led the Marquette Golden Eagles to the Final Four in 2003 where they were defeated by the Kansas Jayhawks, a result that would not allow for a much-anticipated showdown with Carmelo Anthony and the Syracuse Orangemen. The two today are both on Jordan Brand and like Anthony, Wade will release a colorway from his signature line that pays homage to his alma mater. The Jordan Fly Wade 2 ‘Marquette’ features a color palette of University Gold/Obsidian-White and while Buzz Williams’ Marquette team has worn the Jordan Fly Wade 2 iD this season, we can expect to see them wear these in the Big East and NCAA Tournaments. On Sunday night, Jordan Brand’s trio of superstars will be participating in the NBA All-Star Game.
