Michael Jordan Accepts ALS Ice Bucket Challenge

The ALS Ice Bucket Challenge is sweeping the country right now in an attempt to raise awareness and to help find an eventual cure for Lou Gerhrig’s disease. The thought process behind it is simple – you have 24 hours to respond to the challenger and either donate money to the charity to help fund research for motor neurone disease or dump a bucket full of ice on your head. Michael Jordan was recently challenged by none other than Jordan Brand Athlete Derek Jeter, and the boss responded in a big way. He nominated Phil Jackson and all of his Dream Team teammates to donate money and feel the rush of cold water over their heads. And considering Mike’s had ice running through his veins after all those clutch career moments, we doubt he minded feeling the cold water for a few moments. Watch the video after the jump.

Carmelo Anthony Showcases New Jordan Melo M10 PE

Carmelo Anthony’s bank account might’ve bulked up this off-season after inking a contract extension with the New York Knicks, but the star Small Forward has definitely taken the small in his position title a bit literally as he’s shed some weight in his latest Instagram photo. Melo joins LeBron James as All-Stars who look to have cut some serious pounds this off-season, but just incase you missed it, the Jordan Brand signature athlete also had a brand new colorway of the Jordan Melo M10. Similar to that Super Sunday PE, the pair gets a Home make up of white with accents of blue and orange throughout. His stands out for one unique detail in comparison to other Jordan Brand Athletes, in that it happens to be filled with exclusive low top iterations of Mike’s signature sneakers. The latest pair we get to check out is this Air Jordan 17 Low. While the pair basically skips out on any callout for the time period that Bibby wore these thanks to a white and platinum aesthetic, the shoe does feature BIB 10 TD stitching in purple so we can only guess that this was during his stint as the Kings’ starting point guard. Blake Griffin Talks Jordan Super.Fly 3

Blake Griffin’s Jordan Super.Fly 3 was officially unveiled yesterday, and while the sneaker started before Blake had signed to Jordan Brand, his presence immediately transformed the sneaker and gave it a longer shelf life thanks to the second iteration last year. Today a video surfaced of Blake talking about his off-season training regiment and eventually digressed into what he looks for in a shoe. Besides detailing that this was the first time his input was put to the test, Blake went on to say that he looks for a lockdown fit, he mentions the new Flight Web system as well as noting the difference between playing in a sneaker with the Jordan Flight Plate and playing in a sneaker without it. The video is a great watch to see Blake’s training and his influences on his game. Check it out below.

Kawhi Leonard Beats Michael Jordan in a Game of Hot Shot

Kawhi Leonard became the first Jordan Brand Athlete to take home the NBA Finals MVP trophy since the man that coined the brand in this year’s Finals. This award will most likely come with a more featured role for the Spurs up and comer in the Jumpman’s lineup, and he already is starting to make appearances at the request of the man himself. During Michael Jordan’s summer camp, Kawhi came out to play a game of Hot Shot, teaming up with a camper to face off against Michael. While Leonard opted for a pair of what looks to be the debut colorway of the Air Jordan XX9, Mike kept things rather casual in the black and white Jordan Future. Watch the video below.

Air Jordan XX9: “Minnesota Lynx” Away PE for Maya Moore

Air Jordan XX9: Minnesota Lynx Away PE for Maya Moore

Maya Moore has the added bonus of spending her summer playing hoops, and that means that she has been the fortunate recipient of some rather enticing Air Jordan XX9 PEs before the likes of Russell Westbrook and Kawhi Leonard. While Rus showcased a few gems of his own during the Western Conference playoff run, Maya debuted an all royal blue pair with a clean accent of white on the 23 tongue logo. We’re not so sure whether this colorway will release to the public since the signature promises to have an infinite array of looks thanks to that knit-like upper, but we’re definitely excited to find out. What do you think of Maya’s latest selection? Hit the click for a full view and stay tuned for more Player Exclusives right here on Jordans Daily.

Air Jordan XX9: “Minnesota Lynx” PE for Maya Moore

Air Jordan XX9: Minnesota Lynx PE for Maya Moore

Maya Moore made headlines last week for her dominant 48 point performance in a double overtime win, all in the Air Jordan XX8 SE. Apparently Jordan Brand took notice and rewarded Maya for her point tally (good for 2nd all-time in WNBA history) by giving her an Air Jordan XX9 player exclusive. The pair looks fairly similar to the one donned by Russell Westbrook during the NBA playoffs last year, with an all white construction matching offset by sport blue like logos and an icy outsole. What do you think of her pair? Hit the click for a better view and let us know in the comments.
