Jordan Brand today announced the CP3.IX, the latest signature shoe for Los Angeles Clippers star Chris Paul.

The shoe focuses on “Striking Control,” communicated through “speed plus control leads to on-court domination” – a type of potent formula that Paul has demonstrated on his way to eight straight NBA All-Star selections.

Performance has been honed to match Paul’s agile playing style, and is delivered through a concert of synergistic attributes – a web-lacing system for lateral support, with breathable composite mesh upper, an inner bootie fit system, a nine-chamber Zoom Air unit in the forefoot for interactive cushioning, and a built-in outrigger for added stability on lateral movements.

A Chinese character for “family” has been inscribed on the outsole toe to recognize Paul’s strong bond with his family, while the chevron symbol is carried over from previous CP3 signature shoes to honor Paul’s grandfather.

The headline CP3.IX colorway is the “Yellow Dragon,” a connection between Paul’s “on-court movement and the dragon dance that celebrates the Chinese New Year.” The yellow dragon on the heel represents intelligence – another characteristic of Paul’s game.

Jordan CP3.IX releases in Emerald and Yellow Dragon editions on October 1 in China for $130, while the Emerald colorway releases in North America on October 1, and globally on November 1.
