You really can’t put a price on the shot Michael Jordan made to clinch his sixth championship ring, but the backboard that hosted that shot is fair game. Or was fair game – it just sold for $41,825.

Heritage Auctions, which handled the sale of the full backboard, rim and stanchion set from the former Delta Center, parted with the memorabilia Thursday night at the National Sports Collectors Convention in Chicago.

Jordan hit the title-winning shot – his last attempted and made field goal in his final game with the Chicago Bulls – with 5.6 seconds remaining in Game 6 of the 1998 NBA Finals, finishing with 45 points, one rebound, one assist, and four steals. The Bulls defeated the Utah Jazz, 87-86, for their sixth championship win in eight seasons.
