A simple photo shoot in 1984 resulted in one of the most famous logos ever created – the Jumpman. Decked in Air Jordan 1 “Black Toes” and some of the earliest Air Jordan apparel, Michael Jordan‘s extended leap was transformed into the instantly recognizable icon by Tinker Hatfield in 1987. It was Hatfield who saw the potential to make Jordan’s image a focal point, representing not only Jordan himself but a standard of excellence that endures to this day.
