Richard Hamilton enjoyed some of the best Air Jordan PEs – flagship and retro – over his 14-year NBA career. With his pick of virtually any J to play in, you’d think his favorite playing shoe would be something cutting edge like Air Jordan XX3 with its tuned flexible upper and Zoom Air. But it’s actually Air Jordan 2, whose basic leather and Air Sole-equipped ride haven’t changed since the shoe launched in 1986. He shared a quick photo of his white, blue and red Pistons “home” PE to drive home the point, a sneaker he certainly wore plenty during his time in Detroit. Hey, if AJ2 was good enough for Michael Jordan to average 37.1 points with during the 1987 season, it’s good enough for Rip.
