To kick off this week’s Vintage Gear, we take a look back at an old school Jordan practice jersey from the late ’80s. Produced by sporting goods maker MacGregor, this Sand-Knit style tank replicates the soft mesh and screen printing used on official NBA game wear – like the recently released “Shrug” Jordan jersey – until it was gradually phased out in the early ’90s in favor of tackle twill. While jersey technology has grown to become almost an art form with moisture management and virtually weightless fit, many fans will always have a soft spot for this bare bones OG era.
