This Holiday season will see the release of the Air Jordan 12 “Taxi” – the infamous pair inspired by MJ’s trips to New York City where he played in his second favorite arena in Madison Square Garden and had a tendency to light it up more than the camera flashes did. The subtle pair has hints of gold in a non to the Taxis speeding past the Garden. While we’ll have to wait until mid-December to grab a pair, today’s vintage gear is a rare 1997 crew-neck sweatshirt from the original Air Jordan 12 apparel run. While there are no indications of this on the outside – it’s simple aesthetic of heather black with a red Jumpman would match nearly every pair you lace up – the inside tags feature one that is very similar to the back heel of the Air Jordan XII while the Nike branding remans (’97 was the initial year Jordan Brand became a separate entity). Hit the gallery for a better look at this rare find and pick it up today from joeysneakernyc on eBay.
