Before Jordan Brand, sneaker marketing was a completely different entity. In fact, tennis players were the only athletes with million dollar shoe deals before Nike and MJ changed the game. The Swoosh and Jumpman alike have Spike Lee to thank for some brilliant commercials in which he played Mars Blackmon. And while the famous commercial initially ran for the Air Jordan V, today’s vintage gear is a t-shirt for the Air Jordan VI in which Mars is on the front, and then MJ graces the back wearing a pair of Wayfarers.
