When you think of Wale, you think of dope lyrics and kicks. The Maybach Music Group artist hails from the Foamposite capital and makes it known in his songs. Throughout his most recent projects, Ambition and the Eleven One Eleven Theory, Ralph Folarin has made a number of sneaker references and Complex put together a list that looked into them in detail. Although Wale loves the Nike Air Foamposite One, he does have an affiinity for Air Jordans specifically the Air Jordan IV and VI of which he mentions he number of times in his verses. When people watch awards shows their reasons for watching vary. Some may want to see the host while others want to see the performances. In the case of the 2011 BET Hip Hop Awards, everyone can come to an agreement that they are checking for the yearly cyphers. Rick Ross’ Maybach Music Group had a cypher of their own and they impressed not only with their lyrics and their wordplay but their kick game as well. Noted sneakerhead Wale wore the Air Jordan V ‘Metallic’ while Meek Mill and Stalley wore the Air Jordan III ‘Black Cement’ and ‘Stealth’ respectively. Wale’s second album Ambition is scheduled to drop this November and the anticipation for it is heating up due to the amount of music he’s put out this year including a new mixtape. He’s also brought back the vintage trend in the form of throwback jerseys and if you’re going to bring back something vintage you might as well wear the Air Jordan VII ‘Bordeaux’. Wale wore his pair at the unveiling of the 2012 Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4 earlier this week in New York City. This past Saturday night at the Cameo nightclub in Miami, Wale rocked the crowd as a part of Heineken’s Red Star Access Roc Nation tour featuring Wale. Wale who is also known as one of the fiercest sneakerheads in the game, wore a pair of the Air Jordan III ‘Stealth’ during his performance. The ‘Stealth’ III is scheduled to drop next month and will be the second to last Air Jordan III that drops this year. Wale is out in California shooting the video for his song “Bad Girls Club” which is to be featured on his upcoming album due to be released later this year. J.Cole who makes an appearance on the track also was on set for the shooting of the visual. Rick Ross, the Maybach Music Group head honcho, was also on hand at his artist’s video shoot. Wale wore the yellow Air Jordan II’s from the ‘Candy Pack’ which dropped in November 2010 and perfectly complimented his Roberto Clemente throwback jersey. J. Cole wore the Air Jordan VII ‘BIN 23′ and Rick Ross wore the now Euro exclusive Air Jordan V ‘Quai 54′. Along with Fat Joe, Wale is one of the music industry’s most well known sneakerheads who boasts an impressive collection and knowledge to go along with it. Rick Ross’ Maybach Music  Group has taken the rap scene by storm and was on BET’s 106 and Park yesterday to promote their album Maybach Music Group Presents: Self Made vol. 1 which released May 23rd. Meek Mill, Rick Ross’ newest artist, was spotted wearing the Air Jordan V ‘Wolf Grey while on the show where he performed “Tupac Back”.  Meek Mill and the rest of Maybach Music Group wearing Jordans isn’t anything new for them as they have a song titled “Fitted Cap” on their album in which they all talk about their best ‘fits and kicks. Since DMV rapper Wale first arrived on the scene a couple of years ago it’s been clear that he is no stranger to classic kicks. While the DC representative has been most frequently spotted rocking various Foamposite models, it’s evident that his Jordan game is also on point. In his recent shoot for the upcoming video “Self Made” from the Maybach Music group, Wale decided to bust out the Air Jordan XI half of the epic DMP pack that dropped back in 2006. Un-DS’ing such a clean pair in the middle of the desert has gotta be tough, but given the depth of Wale’s collection, chances are he’s got more where these came from.
