The latest bit of proof of Wale’s tenure in the sneaker game comes in the form of this recent 106 & Park wear. Wale showed up for a filming session at the BET studios wearing the Air Jordan XVII “Lightning”, a pair from 2002 that had that stormy nickname long before the Air Jordan IV ever did. Rare even than last year’s various ‘Oregon’ themed Air Jordan III pairs is this year’s Air Jordan IV ‘Oregon Ducks’, a seemingly impossible to attain version featuring plenty of Eugene-friendly branding. Then again nothing is impossible to obtain if your Wale, the MMG rapper whose sneaker selection more likely than not blows yours out of the water. Wale does indeed have a pair for himself and decided to show them off here with his signature loose laced look. The latest one you can add to the list is the Air Jordan IV ‘Lightning’, which he showed off in this Instagram photo along with a Barcelona jersey to pair up with the yellow sneakers.
