NCAA Jordans On Court: Games of February 20 23,2012

Its hard to believe, but there is a little over a week left in the college basketball season. With that said, there is still some time for teams to make a case to the NCAA committee as to why they should hear their names called on Selection Sunday. With Judgment Week beginning this weekend, we’ll how much struggling schools want to get in, but until that happens, we’ll look at the Jordans that saw action over the last few days. This past weekend in college basketball was one of the bigger days of the season as schools needed to stake their claims for a tournament bid. Washington and UConn were both in need of wins to strengthen their tournament resume as well as tournament hopes and Washington was able to do what UConn didn’t, win. Tony Wroten and Shabazz Napier, guards for Washington and UConn respectively, wasted no time playing in their newly acquired ‘White Cement’. While the teams of powerhouse conferences such as the ACC, Big Ten and Big East are carving a lane for themselves in the upcoming NCAA Tournament, its easy to forget about the mid major programs. In fact, Bracketbusters is this weekend and the top mid major programs like St. Mary’s, Wichita State and Murray State will all be action for the nation to see. However, before that happens, lets take a look at the Jordan heat that graced basketball courts on campuses across the NCAA. Players at TCU brought out the Air Jordan XII ‘Taxi’ and Air Jordan XIII ‘Playoff’ in their upset win of UNLV and the guys from San Diego State didn’t fail to impress with them wearing the ‘Bred’ and ‘Chicago’ X. NCAA Jordans On Court: Games of February 10 12,2012

Its been a great college basketball season thus far and its hard to believe that the NCAA Tournament will arrive in just over a month. Some teams are going to have to work harder than others to get consideration for the field of 68. This past weekend, schools left it all on the floor as Rivalry Week came to an end for many universities. In addition to some great games, there was a good selection of footwear worn on the court which ranged from the Air Jordan 10 ‘Old Royal’, Air Jordan 2011 and Air Jordan 2012 Deluxe ‘University Blue’. NCAA Jordans On Court: Games of February 6 8,2012

Last night, two great chapters were written in the books of the Georgetown/Syracuse and Duke/North Carolina rivalries. Duke’s Austin Rivers set the Tar Heel faithful home with their hearts broken after sinking a game winning three pointer at the buzzer much like Syracuse’s Kris Joseph did in the closing seconds of the game. Georgetown and North Carolina both debuted the Air Jordan 2012 Deluxe in ‘Wolf Grey’ and ‘University Blue’ respectively, but it didn’t help their game as they weren’t able to overcome defeat. In addition to the , we saw player exclusive version of the as well as a variety of Air Jordan IIIs on the college hardwood across the country. Now that professional football has ended, all eyes will be on basketball; both professional and collegiate. This week is the start of Rivalry Week in the NCAA with notable matchups including Syracuse/Georgetown, Duke/UNC and Florida/Kentucky. This past weekend was an eventful one in the sport as we saw Duke go down once again in Cameron Indoor to an unranked opponent as well as what could be the last Mizzouri/Kansas matchup due to Mizzou’s impending move to the SEC. With all of that going on, we still managed to see some great footwear ranging from the ‘Cool Grey’ to the ‘Black Cement’. NCAA Jordans On Court: Marcus Jordan Wears Air Jordan IV White Cement

While we are waiting patiently until February 18th for the release of the Air Jordan IV ‘White Cement’, already has his pair on lock. He wore them last night in a victory over Division 2 Palm Beach State and led the team in scoring with 17 points. Like we saw with the Air Jordan X ‘Chicago’, you can expect most players who get a pair of ‘White Cement’ IVs to wear them on court as well during the weekend of the 18th. Check out Marcus Jordan wearing the ‘White Cement’ after the jump and let us know what you think.

Over the weekend in college basketball, schools around the nation took part in Coaches vs. Cancer in an attempt to raise awareness about the disease that has affected many worldwide. During Coaches vs. Cancer, coaches and their staff wear sneakers instead of shoes and West Virginia’s Bob Huggins wore a pair of ‘White Cement’ with his usual tracksuit. Along with coaches, Jordan Brand schools wore Coaches vs. Cancer PEs which included the and Jordan Play In These II. The Pac-12 has been quite the enigma this season as despite the talent throughout the conference, its widely regarded as the worst in the nation. Some believe that the Pac-12 may only get two bids at most in this year’s NCAA Tournament. What they can’t do for their tournament resume, they certainly can for their sneakerhead resume as they bring it every night. The guys out on the West Coast brought out sneakers like the Air Jordan XIII ‘Wheat’, ‘Shadow’ and ‘Bred’ just to name a few. If there’s one thing we can take away from this past weekend in college basketball, its that no one is safe as three teams in the top five all saw defeat. Syracuse was knocked from the unranked, Baylor lost for the second time in one week and Duke was stunned in Cameron by a buzzer beater three. The Kentucky Wildcats are back on top for the moment being and with the way the season has gone, that could change in an instant. We also saw a great selection of footwear on the court during the weekend’s games with the ‘Chicago’ being worn in abundance.
