While the Air Jordan XX8 has been a little bit quiet on the retail front as of late, the sneaker is still getting plenty of mileage from the professional set over in the NBA. The perks of being a Jordan Brand athlete were on display as always this weekend in the NBA. Gerald Wallace of the Brooklyn Nets showed off an early pair in the form of the Air Jordan XIII ‘He Got Game’ and Michael Kidd-Gilchrist hit the floor with a pair of the Jordan Super.Fly Low that likely won’t go up for grabs at retail. Alright we realize it’s been a minute since we checked in with the playoffs for the on-court Jordan action but with so few teams left standing that means less folks repping the Jumpman. The saga that is the 2012 NBA Playoffs continues, and with that we continue to keep our eyes on the court for any and all Air Jordan sightings. Jordan Brand’s big three continue to make use of their assorted post-season colorways, leaving it up to other athletes to bring out the retros, which did indeed happen with some sightings of both the Air Jordan III and the Air Jordan XII. The 2012 NBA Playoffs have arrived, and we’re getting a look a the Jordan Brand action out there as promised. As to to be expected the Big Three each laced up their signature sneakers, leaving the rest of the league to get a bit more creative with their selection. Jared Jeffries certainly did that, adapting with the Air Jordan IV ‘Cavs’ as a close match to his Knicks uni. Elsewhere the Jordan Play in These II and the Air Jordan X ‘Stealth’ made up a good number of our sightings with multiple players in each. The San Antonio Spurs are the best team that no one has talked about this season as they have remained a threat in the West despite their aging stars. While everyone in the media was focused on Linsanity, the Spurs had quietly pulled off a nine game winning streak helped by their youth movement. Kawhi Leonard, who was drafted out of San Diego State, is a key contributor to the Spurs’ success this season by averaging 7.5 points and 5 rebounds off the bench. In last night’s game against the Portland Trail Blazers, Leonard went back to his SDSU roots by wearing some Jordan heat specifically the Air Jordan XIV in Light Graphite/Chartreuse. In those XIVs he scored 24 points, but it was all for nothing as the Spurs were soundly defeated by 40 at the Rose Garden.
