While Carmelo Anthony himself seems to be more interested in the Jordan Melo M8 Advance at the moment, that hasn’t slowed the retail flow of the Jordan Melo M9. The latest version of the sneaker to show up is this, a black and neo turquoise colorway that sort looks like a “Black Grape” tribute. The Jordan Melo M9 continues to crank out colorways as the Melo and the Knicks extend their stay into the post-season brackets. The newest colorway to hit retail is this, a mixture of metallic silver, black, and crimson. There’s also a bit of a texture remix going on, as the toe cap has a triangular pattern embossed on. The chances of Carmelo Anthony getting a post-season sneaker this year continue to get slimmer and slimmer. That’s not to say that his signature line overall is slowing down-as the Jordan Melo M9 still has colorways coming. Not all of Jordan Brand’s athletes will suit up in the Air Jordan XX8 for this year’s post-season play. Also hitting the floor will be a few more signature sneakers, the Jordan Melo M9 for Carmelo Anthony and the Jordan CP3.VI AE for Chris Paul, and some peripheral models for the likes of Blake Griffin, D.J. Good news-it looks like this Jordan Melo M9 will indeed be coming to retail. When the colorway first popped up it appear to be one that wasn’t on the release schedule anytime soon, a status that had plenty of us feeling let down. With all the unreleased looks we’ve seen as of late, it’s hard not to get the feeling that the best of the Jordan Melo M9 colorways were scrapped. It seems like the Jordan Melo M9 was almost one of the many pairs to jump in on the “Grape” look for 2013. This unreleased sample shows off a look very much in line with the “Black Grape” version of the AJV that’s right around the corner. Unfortunately it appears that they won’t be making it to retail for the time being. So you’ll have to settle for these shots or go ahead and pick up the Jordan Melo M9 sample from oregonsole on eBay.
