Air Jordan 3: “Bape x Ice Cream” by JBF Customs

A Bathing Ape and Air Jordans have been synonymous since the rise of streetwear culture, as many proclaimed their favorite retros accompanied by the infamous camouflage styling of Nigo’s world famous brand. Leave it to JBF Customs to make the connection, as he outfitted a pair of Air Jordan 3s with the signature Bape camo in an enticing red. But he didn’t stop there either, as the sneaker’s midsole drips down the side to reference the Japanese streetwear legend’s Ice Cream label as well. Add in a custom Bape heel and this is one of the better Air Jordan 3 customs we’ve seen yet. He frequents the blogosphere realm with his unique attention to detail and premium leathers that are foreign enough to make your head spin. The latest creation arrives atop the ubiquitous Air Jordan 3 – a shoe that we’ve seen an infinite amount of custom colorways of, but none quite like this. JBF takes the subtle approach allowing for the shark, alligator, and kangaroo leathers to speak for themselves as they’re drenched in all black. Classic Nike Air branding arrives on the heel too. Air Jordan 1: “Royal Python” by JBF Customs – Available on eBay

Air Jordan customs are only increasing in popularity as the years before restocks and volume of retros makes it a little hard to stand out in a crowded market. At the helm of these luxurious one-offs is JBF Customs with his patented authentic snakeskin uppers. One of his most famous creations was atop the Air Jordan 1 “Royal” in which he kept the color blocking the same but instead of the usual leather, hit the panels with python skin. The sneaker makeover usually costs around $1,000 but with retros seeking out nearly double to triple their value from resellers, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that this pair is asking for much more. What do you do when your the son of Michael Jordan and have what could be guessed as seemingly any and every rare Air Jordan? You export to one of the most talented customizers in the game – we speak of JBF Customs of course – to dress up your dad’s classic Air Jordan 1 in a classy snakeskin iteration for New Years Eve. One of the crazier one-offs we’ve seen from JBF, the shoe features the regular amount of python (IE the entire upper) while the ankle support, toebox and Swoosh get a metallic gold treatment to match the confetti that probably sprinkled on this pair as the new year was ushered in. Did you get a chance to grab the infamous Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG “Bred” over the weekend? The classic “Banned” sneaker hit retail shelves as one of the last releases for Jordan Brand’s monstrous 2013, but that didn’t stop one of our favorite customizers in JBF Customs in taking the legendary colorway and applying his signature snakeskin material in his latest creation. Air Jordan 1 “Shadow Python” by JBF Customs

JBF Customs struck gold once he mastered the art of the snakeskin kicks, but probably the most aesthetically pleasing of all of his great one-offs has been any collaboration the artist sees with the Air Jordan 1. Today we get a look at another classic design from Jordan’s first silhouette in the form of this snakeskin “Shadow” themed incarnation. With black and grey tinted python skin, the shoe maintains the simplicity of the classic while still prominently featuring the luxurious materials that JBF is known for. Air Jordan 3: “Green Python” by JBF Customs

JBF Customs is known for his snakeskin treatments of classic Air Jordan Retros and while he specializes in brining the luxurious aesthetic atop ubiquitous colorways it looks like he has nowhere else to turn but bring his own original twist on some new schemes. Using the Air Jordan III Retro ’88 he takes his snakeskin approach with a “Green Python” look that uses the cement grey color to accent a bright kelly green serpent skin. Air Jordan V: “Cobra Commander” by JBF Customs x Sekure D

JBF Customs has been upping the ante in the Customs game for quite some time now with his snakeskin adorning silhouettes turning heads each time he releases a new rendition. In his latest creation, JBF teamed up with another well-known creator in Sekure D to showcase their handywork atop the ever-popular Air Jordan V with their “Cobra Commander” one-off. Of course it features that red-reptilian texture, this time making its way to the back heel panel in addition to being stitched onto the front toe box.
