Following up on the last couple days of 2013 NBA Playoffs action, Jordans Daily is here to show you the Air Jordan sneakers that hit the court. A good number of them took place between Brooklyn and Chicago, with the likes of Andray Blatch and Gerald Wallace on the former and Nate Robinson on the latter doing their thing. Jordan Brand’s athletes are making full use of their brand new Air Jordan XX8 post-season player exclusives. The first round has finally put folks other than Russell Westbrook in special versions of the sneaker. Spotted over the past few days were Ray Allen, Rip Hamilton, and Gerald Wallace all suited up in the shrouded silo. Not all of Jordan Brand’s athletes will suit up in the Air Jordan XX8 for this year’s post-season play. Also hitting the floor will be a few more signature sneakers, the Jordan Melo M9 for Carmelo Anthony and the Jordan CP3.VI AE for Chris Paul, and some peripheral models for the likes of Blake Griffin, D.J. There’s pretty much no dispute as to who had the nicest Air Jordan wear over the weekend this time around. Derrick Williams of the Timberwolves blew us all away by bringing out the chromed out Air Jordan IV “Oregon Ducks”. And while the wear doesn’t make a ton of sense college-wise given that Williams is an Arizona alum, we definitely respect his sneaker game on this one. So Carmelo Anthony did go ahead and stuck with the Jordan Melo M8 Advance while on his win streak. And while he had a monstruous game last night it just wasn’t enough, as he and the Knicks eventually fell to Chicago in overtime. Speaking of Chicago, they had their share of Air Jordan wears too, with Nate Robinson doing the retro thing as always and Rip Hamilton rocking with the Air Jordan XX8. It looks like Carmelo Anthony has switched back to the Jordan Melo M8 Advance for the tail end of the Knicks’ season. And hey, if that sneaker has played any part in helping out with that 12-game winning streak that they’re on at the moment we can’t argue with it. As much as we like the see retro Air Jordans on the NBA court, it’s also good to see the new models hit the hardwood to give us the notion that the pinnacle of basketball athletes approve of the sort of stuff Jordan Brand is building. The was certainly on display this week, as we saw the likes of Blake Griffin testing out the Jordan Super Fly 2, Russell Westbrook in one of his PE Air Jordan XX8s, and even an appearance of the Jordan Aero Mania. The New York Knicks were a particularly Air Jordan-leaning group over the weekend, perhaps attempting to play catch up a bit with the tear that the Raptors have been on in this season as far as Jordan Brand wears are concerned. Aside from the obvious of Carmelo Anthony in his Jordan Melo M9, there was JR Smith in the Air Jordan IV, and Kenyon Martin bringing out both the Air Jordan IX and the Jordan Spiz’ike with blue and orange palettes in place. This week was an exciting one as far as NBA Air Jordans go. We saw a non-Jordan Brand athlete put his stamp of approval on the Air Jordan XX8 as Monta Ellis brought out the green camo colorway, the Air Jordan IX ‘Bentley Ellis’ was utilized for its ‘Cavs’ look, and Jordan Brand’s Clippers soldiers did their thing as always. When was the last time you saw the Air Jordan VI ‘Oreo’ on the NBA court? DeJuan Blair broke them out this week as a perfect match for the muted unis of his Spurs squad.
