The Air Jordan XX9 debuted yesterday in an onslaught of first looks, samples and more at a launch event in New York City, and Jordan Brand rolled out all of the stops to make sure everyone knew that the silhouette fit right in with their history of innovation. As part of the event, JB decorated the walls with metal plated spare parts of their signature sneaker like from numbers 1 to 28. Each framed layout featured a look a the spare parts of each signature Air Jordan broken down from the sole to the side panels in full glory. It’s no secret that the Air Jordan 11 “Concord” does things to the collective psyche of sneakerheads. In fact, MJ loved the colorway so much that he disobeyed Tinker’s wishes and debuted them months ahead of any press in the playoffs for a few games against the Orlando Magic. So what will the low-top iteration of the silhouette do when it releases May 3rd? Sticking to the script of the original, the sneaker features the classic white mesh upper while black patent leather contrasts and that purple Concord hue hits the accents. By now, you should be familiar with the tradition of Air Jordan summer releases. Every year the warmer months are blessed with a new take on the classic patent leather styling of the Air Jordan 11 (Mike’s own favorite silhouette) in low-top form. This year will be truly special though, as this weekend we’ll get a new “Green Snake” scheme followed by a take on the Air Jordan 11 Low “Concord” and a new “Infrared 23″ look. Initially thought to be a nod at the “Space Jam” 11s, instead the shoe opts for a non-traditional cement speckle while Infrared accents hit the branding and outsole. This weekend we’ll see the Air Jordan 2 “Infrared Cement” arrive at retailers, and now it looks like the Air Jordan 4 and Air Jordan 6 inspired colorway will make its way to another silhouette for this summer in the Air Jordan 11 Low. Initially thought to be a low-top rendition of the classic “Space Jam” Air Jordan 11, this sneaker instead opts to branch out thanks to Infrared details on the ’23′ stitching while the back heel gets a cement speckled panel. The Air Jordan 11 Low is a sneaker that always heats up the summer, but this year we’ll be getting a few more releases than normal of the patent leather low top thanks to the Air Jordan 11 Low “Green Snake” and the introduction to the “Concord” Air Jordan 11 Low. The colorway we’ve come to know and love from the original debuted of Jordan’s eleventh sneaker finally arrives in a summer ready look and keeps things traditional with a white mesh upper with contrasting black patent leather while an icy outsole is aided by concord accents. Vintage Gear: Air Jordan 11 Columbia Snapback Hat

With March Madness under way, Jordan Brand has offered up plenty of stylings in Tar Heel colorways ranging from the Air Jordan 1 AJKO “Rivals Pack” to the recently retroed Air Jordan 10 “Powder Blue”. But the shoe featuring the university blue hue that has everyone talking is the rumored to return Air Jordan 11 “Columbia”. The shoe only made one on-court appearance for MJ in the 1996 All-Star Game, but people have been hoping for pairs to resurface ever since. Today’s vintage gear should go perfectly with the potentially-releasing pair as it’s a white and blue snapback from 1996.  The front logo mimics the Air Jordan tag on the shoe while the back of the hat features the 23 insignia.
