Vintage Gear: Air Jordan 8 Graphic Tank

Will the Air Jordan 8 return for 2014 in retro form? While we saw the “Playoff” edition hit retailers in the middle of 2013, we’re still unsure about the resurgence of the infamous double strapped silhouette. While the eighth silhouette still maintains a sort of cult status amongst Jordan collectors – it’s a shoe that you either love or hate – today’s vintage gear will definitely appease the fans of the sneaker as we get a look at an Air Jordan 8 inspired tank top in an “Aqua” like colorway. The tank comes in a purple while bright yellow writing sees ‘Air Jordan’ strike the side of the shirt vertically while the circular logo seen on the Air Jodan VIII tongue is displayed prominently on the chest. Stick with us after the jump to get more images of this rare Air Jordan 8 inspired tank top and know that this item can be yours today via mclamail on eBay.

NBA Jordans on Court: Around the League 1/08 1/09

Players’ affections towards the Jumpman is only growing, and our latest NBA Jordans on Court definitely represents that. The Raptors continue to be one of the Eastern Conference teams that are gelling in the New Year, as it seems like the wide open East playoff seeding is more appealing than tanking to Canada’s team. DeMar DeRozan is a budding star and he chose the Air Jordan 8 “Playoffs” in a recent game. Meanwhile, the Air Jordan XII seems to have replaced the Air Jordan 10 as the league’s go to retro – Joe Johnson and Nate Robinson both picked the “Taxi” and “Gamma Blue” respectively. Get with us after the click for our latest NBA Jordans on Court recap and let us know which pair was your favorite in the comments.

Air Jordan VIII: Chris Paul “New Orleans Hornets” PE

Air Jordan VIII: Chris Paul New Orleans Hornets PE

Michael Jordan’s Charlotte franchise will revert back to its Hornets namesake at the beginning of next season, but the squad had a strange time in New Orleans that saw the addition of yellow on their jerseys. So while the Air Jordan 8 “Aqua” might be better suited to hold down the uniforms for next season’s Hornets, this pair of the Chris Paul player exclusives sees an interesting mash up of teal and maize and grey on the back heel. Based in white, the ’23′ on the strap sees a yellow with teal outlining while the CP3 stitching fits perfectly inside the oval ankle support in yellow. Hit the gallery for a better look at the sneaker and know that you can grab this pair right now via phyuck_yo_kixx on eBay.

Vintage Gear: Air Jordan VIII x Looney Tunes Sticker Set

Would Space Jam have happened earlier if it wasn’t for Michael Jordan’s sudden first retirement? With all of the merchandise continuing to pour out from people’s vintage collections, it may have been possible considering that the first time MJ teamed up with Bugs Bunny and company was to promote his Air Jordan VII. Jordan Brand then renewed the collaboration to help promote his Air Jordan VIII as showcased in today’s vintage gear: a sticker set featuring the likes of Bugs, Porky and Marvin the Martian while also promoting a miniature sized version of that infamous MJ poster featuring him holding Marvin by the helmet. Hit the gallery for full images and grab this rare set today from bcbaseballcards on eBay.

Vintage Gear: Air Jordan 8 Tank Top

While winter closes in on us and most of us will have to put our Air Jordans in the closet and keep them there until the snow will clear up (thankfully there’s still the winterized versions of some of our favorites) it is basketball season and most will take refuge in the heated environment of a gym to hoop winter away. Today’s vintage gear is for the pick up baller in all of us that still wants to show off their vintage prowess with this Air Jordan 8 tank top in mint condition, grey ‘Made in USA’ tag and original price ticketing still attached. With a heather grey look, the shirt features the classic Air Jordan font streaking up the side of the shirt while that circular Jordan logo that’s featured on his eighth signature’s tongue is screen printed opposite. Hit the gallery for a better look and know that it’s available today via btd-outlet on eBay.

Air Jordan VIII: Josh Howard Mavericks PE

Air Jordan VIII: Josh Howard Mavericks PE

Josh Howard started off strong for the Dallas Mavericks, putting up huge numbers early and earning himself a place among All-Stars until injuries derailed a promising future. What we’re left with are a few looks at some incredibly limited player exclusive pairs given to Howard when he spent his days in Dallas, and today we get a glimpse at a rare Air Jordan VIII. Featuring an all white upper, the shoe sports a colorway closer to a Georgetown Hoyas scheme (and that’s even before you get to the inner lining where a unique pattern hits the inside). The sneaker also features the normal player callout in the form of the JHO5 hitting the ankle cushioning. Hit the gallery for a better look and if you’re feeling this pair be sure to pick it up from air-flight23 on eBay.

Vintage Gear: Air Jordan 8 Windbreaker

Vintage Gear: Air Jordan 8 Windbreaker

When the Air Jordan VIII released for the 1992-93 the Bulls were in the midst of their first three-peat and it didn’t look like anything was going to slow them down. Michael Jordan was hailed as the best to ever do it and his Nike branded apparel was selling out of stores. Today’s vintage gear is an item you would’ve seen being worn during the Chicago squad’s run at their third title right before MJ abruptly retired – a vintage purple and aqua Air Jordan 8-inspired windbreaker. Complete with a purple color on the front and aqua accents, the back contrasts with a blown up Jumpman logo mimicking the sole of the Air Jordan VIII in yellow, black and red. Hit the click for a better view and if you’re feeling this rare find know that it’s available right now from mark-martha on eBay.

Kobe Bryant Air Jordan Retro PE Collection by DependableJay

Kobe Bryant Air Jordan Retro PE Collection by DependableJay

Air Jordan PEs continued to spread their influence over the NBA in the past decade. And while some are more covetable than others (word to the likes of a Carmelo Anthony player exclusive versus somebody like Fred Jones. Who?) the holy grail of Air Jordan PEs has to be the silhouettes given to a player that unmistakably and most successfully modeled his game after His Airness – Kobe Bryant. Back when the Black Mamba ditched the three stripes after a not-too-successful Audi inspired signature turn, Kobe was a free agent on the shoe market and what resulted was an onslaught of Air Jordan Retros that featured a purple and gold scheme. And while Kobe switched his number to one over Jordan, unfortunately he didn’t sign to the brand and now only a handful of Kobe-Jordan collaborations exist. Dependablejay has a remarkable stock pile of four models, ranging from the Air Jordan III to the Air Jordan IX (and both home and away versions of a Lakers themed Air Jordan VII) and you can envy them in the gallery by continuing onward.
