Air Jordan 5: “Metallic” – 1999 Retro Pair Autographed by Michael Jordan

May 19th, 2014 By

The Air Jordan 5 “Black/Metallic” is as classic an Air Jordan retro as you can find, and even though they failed to get Mike into the promised land (he fell to the Detroit Pistons one last time while wearing this pair) they did feature that classic 3M treatment on the tongue and a translucent outsole that turned plenty of heads. Today we get a glimpse of a 1999 retro of the silhouette that includes the Nike Air branding on the heel. This pair even comes correct with a signature by the man himself making this a definite collectors item. August 11th, 2012 By

The Air Jordan V ‘Metallic’ is one of those retros that we’ve been able to count on to come out every years since the new millennium. After the last ‘Nike Air’ bearing pair we’ve had two more since, last year’s and then this pair four years prior. The Air Jordan V ‘Metallic’ from 2007 differs from the 2011 version in a few minimal ways, predating the bluish tint on the icy sole and also coming with a slightly tougher material for the blackout upper.
