J.R. Smith Wearing Air Jordan V “Q Rich Knicks” PE

JR Smith hasn’t been too strong in the Knicks’ current series against the Indiana Pacers, shooting just 14 of 49 so far. And while you can certainly deride his shooting, you can’t say too many bad things about his sneaker game. Last night he borrowed a Knicks flavored from Quentin Richardson, a guy who hasn’t had too many chances to put mileage on his sneakers as of late. The “Duckman” Air Jordan IV was one of the earlier collegiate exclusives to be produced. Oregon as a whole got the treatment (two pairs in total) before others like UNC and Cal. Shown here is the sneaker complete with the leather hangtag, a little addition that we don’t see on non-retail pairs too often. Michael Jordan’s OGs from back in the day were separated by the stitched look that shows up for the numbering on the back. Shown here is one of those pairs, an original Air Jordan XI “Columbia” that appears to have been made for Mike. And as you’ll remember, those were the sneakers he wore out to the NBA All-Star Game in 1996, so if these are indeed a game-worn pair then it’s possible that that was the game they were worn in. Apparently Michael Jordan himself was one of the few folks to get his hands on the with that alternate Dunk tooling on the bottom. This pair is one of those, a PE for MJ that also has a couple other little tweaks that separate it from the retail version of the OG . Also switched up is the overall height and the Wings-logo usage (That emblem hits on both sides of the sneaker here).
