The Jordan Brand team just got deeper with the addition of Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant. The word comes straight from Bryant, who announced the signing via Twitter (And also excitedly mentioned chatting with the man Michael himself, presumably at HQ out in Beaverton). Announced today was the attendance of Grammy award-winner Drake, who will hit the stage immediately following the last game of the day come Saturday, April 13th. Also announced were the complete rosters for the National and Regional games that will go down that day over at the Barclays Center. The video resurrects the ‘Dare to Fly’ tagline that was floating around at the initial Air Jordan XX8 launch and even brings in Michael Jordan for the narration. ESPN is carrying on with their celebration of Michael Jordan’s 50th birthday with yet another tribute video. This clip details Michael’s initial partnership with Nike, along with the subsequent endorsements that his on-court prowess landed him and the effect his presence had on other sneaker company/athlete partnerships. The Jordan Brand Classic is back in New York for 2013, as the April 13th event will go down at the brand new Barclays Center out in Brooklyn. As of today the teams have been announced and, as to be expected, the group is a who’s who of notable high school basketball stars from around the country. The headlining All-American Game will be preceded in the day by a Regional Game featuring players from the New York metro area and an International Game featuring young players from around the world. Michael Jordan’s 50th birthday is right around the corner, a milestone that is currently being celebrated by the team over at ESPN. One of the segments they’ve whipped up as a tribute is “It’s Gotta Be The Shoes”, a video that looks back at the history of Michael Jordan, the birth of the Jordan Brand, and the Air Jordan phenomenon at large.
