Air Jordan 12 "Obsidian" was the likely candidate to be Michael Jordan's 1997 NBA All-Star Game sneaker. But he chose to roll with the "Playoffs" edition instead, leaving the dark blue and white colorway in the background for fans to discover. The first "Obsidian" retro was not a reproduction of the mid. Instead, Jordan Brand issued it via lowtop in April 2004, with the mid finally hitting the market in June 2012.
