No wait for Saturday release. Air Jordan 16 “Midnight Navy” returns for the first time since 2001 this Thursday, bringing fans back to the third act of Michael Jordan’s career.

At the time of the Midnight 16’s original release – 3/24/2001 – Michael Jordan was barely one year into his position as President of Basketball Operations for the Washington Wizards, trying to build out a franchise that had been mediocre since its lone NBA title in 1978. It was a spot Jordan would relinquish just six months later, when he decided his impact would be greater if he were on the court with the young team.
