The Air Jordan 11 “Space Jam” release this Saturday is expected to be a frenzied sellout. Unfortunately, the desire not to miss out has a dark side, as evidenced by a smash-and-grab robbery of City Gear in Louisville, Kentucky.
A City Gear employee claimed that the $220 Space Jam 11s appeared to be the primary target of the robbers, who left behind a partially demolished wall in the raid. Responding officers claimed that the damage is consistent with that caused by a vehicle.
Though City Gear previously held a raffle to hold pairs for select customers this Saturday, it appears they might have to find another retailer to purchase the sneakers from.
