You couldn’t help but feel a little disoriented whenever Michael Jordan faced off against the Chicago Bulls during his stint in D.C. Jordan on one side, and the black and red he made famous on the other.
But all of that seemed to get thrown out on January 4, 2002, even if momentarily.
This was the game MJ smothered Ron Mercer’s layup. Pounced. Swiped. Engulfed it.
In the play sequence, Jordan had his mid-range jumper blocked by Ron Artest, and then trailed the fast break to exact maybe just a little revenge.
Jordan finished with 29 points, seven rebounds, three assists, two steals and two blocks, as the Wiz won 89-83.
Watch.
