One of the remaining few original colorways not yet brought back during Jordan Brand’s retro run of the last 15 years, Air Jordan 6 “Maroon” finally joins the ranks of the re-released this fall in true-to-OG form. What’s that entail? The off-white leather upper, correct maroon shade and the coup de grâce – Nike Air on each heel and insole.
The Maroon 6, along with Sport Blue 6, was part of the Air Jordan line’s expansion into more lifestyle colorways. The Bulls-oriented colorways were always well-received but what if you wanted some variety in your Js? Enter the likes of Military Blue 4, Grape 5, and Maroon 6. A testament to Air Jordan designer Tinker Hatfield‘s prescience, these colorways not only worked in their early ’90s heyday, they fit right in today in a climate where unusual colorways are the norm.
Take another look at this classic here and stay tuned for more release details on the Air Jordan 6 “Maroon” as they happen.
