Today’s Daily Jordan looks back at the Air Jordan XX “Quickstrike.” Officially tagged as White/Black-Varsity Red, the XX QS released on April 9, 2005 for $175 alongside Black/Stealth-Varsity Red during Jordan Brand’s 20th anniversary year, and was the most limited release of the original three XX colorways. It wasn’t really a quickstrike in that it didn’t just hit shelves out of nowhere, obviously, but it sold out pretty much instantaneously as Jordan fans flocked to the sharp white, black and red combo with patent leather.

There was extra hype sauce on the Quickstrike and Stealth releases because sneakerhead sentiment had largely swung to widespread approval of the XX by the time the White/Varsity Red-Black debut colorway hit on February 19. Sharp contrast from late 2004 when early XX photos elicited virtual puking from various sneaker forum patrons. Take a closer look at Air Jordan XX “Quickstrike” below and let us know if you want Jordan Brand to bring these back soon. You can still find pairs of the original 2005s on eBay.
