With years piling up by the decade since many of Michael Jordan‘s historic career moments took place, the opportunity to bring any related merchandise to market has never been better. Nor more lucrative – a pair of Nike Air Ships from Jordan’s 1984-85 rookie season sold for over $71,000 in April 2015. And now another Jordan-worn sneaker from that early era has popped up.
Previewed in September 2014, this size 13 Converse Fastbreak Mid that Jordan wore during the 1984 Summer Olympics, winning a gold medal in the process, has just become available at Grey Flannel Auctions with a minimum opening bid of $50,000. Based on precedent, you can expect the final selling price to meet or exceed that of the Air Ships. Bidding doesn’t open until June 5th but you can get a closer look at the shoe below and preview the listing here.
