Let the 30th Anniversary of all things Jordan begin because on this day three decades ago, Michael Jordan was drafted by the Chicago Bulls with the third pick in the 1984 Draft. This particular draft is widely considered to be the greatest in NBA history thanks to the likes of Hakeem Olajuwon being drafted 1st overall, with steals like Charles Barkley and John Stockton going later in the draft. It was the inclusion of Jordan though, who entered early after finishing his Junior year at the University of North Carolina, who gave this draft the classic status, as he would go on to win 6 NBA Championships, 5 MVP awards, along with becoming the consensus choice as the greatest to ever hit the hardwood. As always, stick with Jordans Daily for all of your Jordan History and hit the click to watch the broadcast footage of that year’s draft.
