Around the time Michael Jordan retired in October 1993, a mysterious basketball player turned up in the farm leagues named Johnny Kilroy. He looked quite a bit like Jordan and even played like him, but remained shrouded from the press and any further scrutiny. Of course it was MJ in costume, part of Nike’s campaign to keep Air Jordan in the public eye while he embarked on his minor league baseball journey. The folks at the Swoosh printed up merch like this Kilroy tee, with Jordan Brand issuing a Kilroy series of Air Jordan 9 colorways in late 2012. You can still pick these rarities up on eBay
