While Air Jordan 1 has certainly seen its share of high-profile remixes thanks to artists like Dave White and Fragment Design’s Hiroshi Fujiwara, it hasn’t seen anything like Virgil Abloh. The Chicago native and head of the Off-White luxury label appears to have worked AJ1 over for an upcoming release, stripping down and reconstructing the design into something resembling a very early look-see sample. Rough-cut materials, Swooshes stitched on in temporary fashion, and annotations printed on the leather indicate a look far from production stage, which seems the very style Abloh is shooting for.
