Red suede is coming to Air Jordan 5, and the shoe is hitting shelves on July 1st. Jordan Brand is revisiting one of its sneaker storylines of the last decade with this drop, building on the trend fostered by red suede issues like Air Jordan XX1 in 2006, Air Jordan 5 “Raging Bull” in 2009, and Air Jordan 14 “Ferrari” in 2014. The layout is simple enough – all-suede upper, black shark teeth and branding, reflective tongue, and body color mesh that maintains the monochrome vibe while eliminating the possibility of unsightly yellowing. Should we keep the Air Jordan 5 “Red Suede” nickname, or go ahead and break out the “Red October” tag? Stay tuned for more developments on this bright red retro 5.
