Jordan Brand kicked off 2007 with a prime release of Air Jordan 5 “Black/Metallic Silver,” giving fans their first crack at this iconic colorway since 2000. That early retro was a virtual copy of the 1990 original, but Jordan switched it up for the second retro with new reflective material on the tongue, a Jumpman on the heel, and the added 23 stitching like Michael Jordan’s playoff player exclusive. The 2007 release is also noted as the last time this colorway was issued with OG style Durabuck construction, something even the 2016 remastered Nike Air version didn’t feature.
