Charles Barkley’s Christmas Included Jordan Brand Gear And An MJ Baby Doll

This year’s Inside The NBA Christmas gift exchange not only included thoughtful presents shared among the tight-knit crew, it also served as a starting point for reconciliation between Charles Barkley and Michael Jordan. If you qualify a doll as that starting point.

To get what Kenny Smith called the “season of forgiving” going, he gave Chuck an outfit of Jumpman apparel to set the mood, followed by a baby doll with MJ’s face taped on. The reason for the doll? Smith wants Barkley to practice apologizing to MJ so that their friendship can be restored.

It’s likely not the worst strategy Smith has thought of. He got the two former pals together for a photo at the Broadcasting & Cable Hall of Fame in October but the mending didn’t hold. Barkley addressed just a few weeks ago why he and Jordan don’t speak, which is mostly to do with the fact that Barkley basically called MJ a crappy NBA executive.
