Michael Jordan only wore Air Jordan 11 “Space Jam” for three games during the 1995 NBA Playoffs, but the shoe’s impact continues to echo to this day.
After debuting Air Jordan 11 “Concord” in games 1 and 2 in the second round against the Orlando Magic, Jordan started catching flak from the NBA league office about his shoes not matching the Bulls’ uniform. So, he laced up a pair of Nike Air Flight One for game 3 while Nike was busy building him color-compliant Air Jordan 11s, which turned out to be the Black/Dark Concord-White edition that has come to be known as the Space Jams. Mike wore Space Jams for games 4, 5 and 6 before the Bulls fell to the Magic in the series, 4-2.
For the series, MJ averaged 28.5 points in the Concords, scored 40 in his lone game with the Air Flight One, and averaged 29.7 points in the Space Jams.
A few months later he laced up Space Jams again for the filming of Space Jam during summer 1995.
