Jordan Brand’s “Alternate” series kicked off early this year, putting actualization to the what-if idea of Michael Jordan having player exclusives during his Chicago Bulls career. Air Jordan 6 “Alternate” looks to revisit that in 2017.
Like Air Jordan 5 “Pre-Grape,” the Alternate 6 appears to be a colorway that was in the running to be official in 1991, but was ultimately left in the vault. The similar Air Jordan 6 “Maroon” ended up making the final cut, and we saw the grey nubuck and white leather combination show up a year later in 1992 with Air Jordan 7 “Hare.” Details on this release include perforated leather overlays, 1991 stitching on each of the tongue backs, and the return of the standard Jumpman Air logo on each heel.
