One of the next Air Jordan 31 releases wouldn’t be possible without its inspiration. Had Michael Jordan gotten a contract with adidas in 1984 as he’d hoped, no Air Jordan line exists. But MJ signed his five-year, $2.5 million deal with Nike and started a game-changing enterprise right up there with the Ford Model T and sliced bread. This “Fine Print” colorway captures the importance of that first contract with a crisp white and black colorway – the choice for most legally binding documents – with an embossed tongue tag featuring a “Banned” logo to reference Air Jordan 1’s immediate impact on the NBA. Underfoot, a facsimile of 21-year-old MJ’s autograph, not unlike the one he inked on the Swoosh deal. Get a new look around the shoe below, and stay tuned for more updates on this September 17th release.
