Today, Air Jordan 9 is counted as one of the fan favorites of the Jordan line, even though Michael Jordan never laced them up with the Chicago Bulls. Had he stayed, this is the colorway Mike would’ve worn during the 1993-94 regular season. MJ instead took his talents to Double-A baseball, leaving the Jumpman flagship without its official on-court representative for the first time ever. After a design progression that started with Air Jordan 3 and ran through Air Jordan 8, Tinker Hatfield took the line in a new direction with the 9. No ornate overlays nor straps, just clean patterned leather and a nubuck rand in classic Bulls colors. The originals arrived in fall 1993, followed by retros in January 2002, March 2008, and August 2010. The colorway is set to return in late 2016.
