The rumors were true after all – LeBron James will head to space as star of the next Space Jam movie. According to Hollywood Reporter, the Cleveland Cavaliers general will lead the Toon Squad in a script currently under development by screenwriters Andrew Dodge and Alfredo Botello, with Fast & Furious series director Justin Lin set to helm. James will have big shoes to fill, taking over Michael Jordan’s turn as intergalactic superstar from the 1996 cult favorite. While the movie’s release is likely two years away at least, fans can look forward to the Air Jordan 11 “Space Jam” returning to stores this Christmas. Stay tooned.
