In the midst of the ‘Nike Air on Air Jordans’ renaissance, one can’t help but think of the Air Jordan 5s from 2000. Jordan Brand dropped both the Black/Black-Metallic Silvers and the White/Black-Fire Reds that year, each virtual carbon copies of their original 1990 counterparts. From the shape, to the authentic 3M tongues, to the Nike Air on each heel, these were prime. That’s what JB is looking to recapture with the retro remaster concept, taking retros back to their original state. At a price, of course. These haven’t been re-issued with Nike Air just yet, but the Metallics will be back on July 23, 2016. Check out collectible pairs now via eBay.
